Renew Mama’s Fall Family Bucket List

Just like that Summer is over and Fall is in the air! I’m finding myself wearing sweaters, jeans, cozying up with blankets, and drinking all things pumpkin spice.

Fall brings out so many amazing moments for both parents and kids. It’s a time to start slowing down, journaling about all the things we are grateful for, and spending time with those who matter most.

If you’re looking for ways to slow down and make the most of the season, check out Renew Mama’s 2018 Fall Family Bucket List.

1. Apple Picking:

Some of my favorite moments with my kids are picking apples every season. I love to try different orchards each year to see which apples we love the most. One of my favorites by far is Robinette’s! We love the donuts and apples in every flavor and variety.

2. Carve Pumpkins:

What says Fall more than carving pumpkins?!

We typically pick the pumpkins at a local orchard, such as Schwallier’s Country Basket. To make the pumpkins last, rub a few drops of peppermint oil inside your pumpkin to keep it fresh all season long!

3. Indulge in Pumpkin Spice Lattes:

I love trying all the pumpkin lattes at local Grand Rapids coffee shops.

My favorite so far is the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Sweetland’s in Rockford.

I also recently discovered this pumpkin spice creamer that I love in my coffee I make at home.

4. Host a Family Pot Lock:

I am planning to host a Fall family gathering! I love a good chili recipe, creamy potato soup, or one pot lasagna for Fall comfort food. I’ll make the main dish and have everyone else bring a side or a dessert.

5. Bake a Fall Treat with the Kids:

You could always go with a classic Pumpkin or Apple Pie, but I like to put a delicious twist on fall flavors with this recipe for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. SO yummy! And it’s so easy for the kids to get involved. I like to have Quinn and Landon take turns adding ingredients and mixing the batter. Their favorite part is mixing in the chocolate chips!

6. Visit Art Prize:

Taking the kids to downtown Grand Rapids to see all the art makes for a fun, creative family day!

Check out GR Kids’ Guide to ArtPrize 10 for tips and tricks for planning your visit.

7. Jump in a Leaf Pile:

Is there anything more entertaining for kids than making a mess and jumping in leaf piles for hours?

Sure, as soon as you get the lawn raked you start over when kids are around, but oh so fun!

Don’t just leaf the fun to the kids – join in on the jumping to re-live some childhood joy!
