7 Ideas for Your Fourth of July BBQ

This week is Fourth of July which means beaches, backyards, and barbecues! If you’re hosting or attending a July 4th BBQ this weekend and still don’t know what you’re making, no worries. We’ve rounded up yummy recipes, adorable desserts, and a fun activity to bring with you to your holiday event!

1. BBQ Chicken Kebabs

A classic! This recipe can be made on the grill or oven-broiled. If homemade BBQ sauce is too much for you, simply use your favorite store-bought sauce and call it good!

2. Veggie Kabobs

Keep is healthy with vegetable kabobs! This recipe from LoveThroughPlants is for oven-roasted kabobs, but you could easily make these on the grill for that classic BBQ feel.

3. Grilled Corn on the Cob

Corn is always good, but grilled corn on the cob is always better! Here’s a recipe for Grilled Chili Lime Butter Corn on the Cob that looks so good. But if you’re looking for something a little more kid-friendly, simple wrap the ears of corn in tinfoil with a pad of butter and grill until done!

4. Patriotic Fruit Platter

Cutting up some red and blue fruit is always an easy go-to. Spruce up your fruit platter a bit by arranging it like an American flag! I love the addition of the white chocolate-covered pretzels in this recipe!

5. Homemade Lemonade

Does anyone else’s kids just LOVE lemonade? I like to make a quick strawberry or raspberry lemonade by muddling the berries in a cup, adding some fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and small spoonful of sugar, ice and water. Simple as that! You can make this on a larger scale in a pitcher just as easily. Or try this recipe for Old-Fashioned Lemonade with a patriotic flare of red and blue berries.

6. Firecracker Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie Treats are such a an easy, delicious dessert to make for any occasion. How cute are these red, white, and blue ones? If you’re not into food dye, you could add some patriotic sprinkles on top of regular rice krispie treats instead!
