Ultimate Prenatal Supplement Routine

Everyone knows how important it is to stay as healthy as possible during pregnancy, but the world of supplements and vitamins to help you do so can be overwhelming! Here are the 6 vitamins and supplements that Amanda Holbert swears by during pregnancy:

1. Prenatal Vitamin

My midwife has always recommended the brand Integrative Therapeutics Prenatal Forte during pregnancy. I’ve taken it with 3 out of my 4 kids and have always loved it. I also take it while I’m nourishing during postpartum. Another great brand is the Ortho Molecular Prenatal with DHA. Rise Wellness Chiropractic carries that in their office within the studio. 

2. Fish Oil

Orthomega Select DHA is my favorite fish oil. It’s easy to take, 1 a day, and I never feel the need to gag when taking it. Fish oil during pregnancy helps support cognitive support, eye health, and cardiovascular systems. It’s also really important for brain health. I found it kept me feeling “sharp” and more awake and alert. I like to call this supplement my brain power! I purchase this through our in house chiropractors, Rise Wellness. 

3. Probiotics

I love the Life 9 probiotic by Young Living. It has 17 billion live cultures from nine beneficial bacteria strains. It helps promote healthy digestion, supports gut health, and helps maintain normal intestinal function for the overall support of a healthy immune system. I order this supplement every month for my husband and I. I also give the kids the Young Living Kidscents Mighty Pro Probiotic, it takes like a pixy stick!

4. Vitamin D

Ortho Molecular Vitamin D3 with K2 is a must. I take 1 capsule per day which is 5,000 IU. Sometimes in the middle of winter I’ll up my dose to 2 per day. Pretty much everyone who lives in Michigan is Vitamin D deficient! I purchase this vitamin through Rise Wellness as well.

5. Vitamin C

My favorite Vitamin C brand is Young Living. I take one a day no matter if I’m pregnant or not. This one is great because it is fortified with rutin, citrus bioflavonoids, and minerals to balance electrolytes and enhance the effectiveness and absorption of vitamin C.

6. Red Raspberry Leaf Tea

During my pregnancy I would try to drink a cup of red raspberry leaf tea daily until the 3rd trimester. Once I reached the 3rd trimester, I aimed for 2 cups daily. I also loved my pregnancy tea blend my doula made for me that included red raspberry, nettles, chamomile,  and a few other pregnancy rich herbs.
