2019 Holiday Gift Guide for Kids

Anyone feel like they could never have to purchase another toy for their kids again and be completely happy? I’m sick of all the STUFF! Here’s the thing, mama: kids don’t need a lot of things, they need a lot of love. This year, I’m focusing on keeping the gifts for my kids to a minimum and aiming for more gifts of experience rather than items. Here is Renew Mama’s official 2019 Gift Guide for Kids. Many of the things on this list are great for getting your own kids, but many are perfect things to ask for from grandparents as well, since they’re fun for the whole family!

Family Membership to Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

A membership to the gardens is great because there’s something there for every season of the year. It’s almost like a new gift every few weeks/months!

Renew Mama Studio Winter Pass

Our Winter Pass is the perfect gift for all the kids in the family that’s a sneaky gift for mom, too. This four month pass includes unlimited classes for mom and all the kids, unlimited mama lounge access, 2 free guest passes, and optional unlimited childcare. It’s so nice to commit to a whole season of classes, the kids really get to know each other in class and form friendships! Purchase the Winter Pass here and the Winter Pass + Childcare here.

Grand Rapids Children’s Museum Membership

My kids love the Children’s Museum so much and so do I! Anything I can take all four of my kids to is a win for me. Bonus: I teach a monthly Toddler & Caregiver Yoga class at the GRCM that’s free to all members!

Kids Yoga Mat

If your little one is enjoying their Renew Mama kids classes, get them their own child-sized yoga mat to continue their practice at home! Be prepared for so much cuteness as they show you the moves they’ve learned in class. This Gaiam mat is super popular in our preschool yoga program. Our little yogis favorite designs are the Dino Zone, Blue Rocket, Pink Zebra, and Birdsong. So adorable!

Swim Lessons

Fun, but also really important! Goldfish Swim School is a great option. So is MVP Sportsplex!

A gift that invites imaginative play

Okay, okay…I couldn’t resist adding something from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. I just think everything Joanna Gaines does is amazing! What can I say, I even gave my younger daughter the middle name Magnolia! I came across their Kids’ Wood Kitchen and fell in love. A play kitchen is a great gift because it’s more than just a toy – it encourages play! Actual play and play-based learning, not just watching a hunk of plastic light up and make noise like some other toys. Another awesome item from this collection is the Build a Snowman Kit, so cute and also involves play, movement, and getting outdoors!

I hope this guide helps you keep some of your sanity this holiday season! This time of year can be so stressful, but we’re all going to get through it.
