Do you remember sleepovers from middle school? Maybe you played MASH, watched scary movies, or choreographed dance routines. I distinctly remember the conversation always turning from boys and bras to periods. Who had theirs already and who, like me, were the late bloomers. We would listen attentively to each other and ask questions about what was normal. There is still something special about a group of girls or women coming together to share these uniquely female experiences. We can talk to our spouses about it, but only other women can understand how it really feels. (more…)
The weeks are approaching fast, I can’t believe I only have 5 weeks left being pregnant with my 3rd baby. Babymoon • a relaxing or romantic vacation taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born. A babymoon is a real thing and if you’re pregnant you should definitely go on one before baby comes! Disconnect from the stresses of everyday life, spend precious quality time with your partner and treat yourself! You will NEVER get this quality time back!
Wondering when to go? The second trimester is the best and most comfortable time to travel. (According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the safest time to travel is from 18 to 24 weeks.) Morning sickness is usually over, you tend to have a boost in energy, and your bump isn’t too big yet! Always check with your doctor prior to your trip just to be sure you’re safe to travel. (more…)
A Tuesday afternoon getting ready for yoga class, students are pouring in, getting settled on their mats — and there she was: one very-pregnant student rolling out her mat.
