Renew Yoga for Preschoolers
Our preschool program specializes in yoga for kids, learning through play, and building social-emotional intelligence so our little yogis can live their most meaningful and purposeful lives.
The Renew Yoga Preschool utilizes both kids yoga and play-based principles. Our instruction is rooted in yoga practices like the mind-body-breath connection, mindfulness, sensory awareness, meditation, and high energy fun. We also believe that play is essential for optimal growth and that children’s natural curiosity is the main driver of learning. Our teachers strive to provide secure, warm, nurturing, and trusting relationships so students feel comfortable exploring and taking risks.
With these principles in mind we have crafted a stimulating academic learning environment rich in movement, music, creative expression, and joy that also sparks wonder and inspires awe.

We are the ONLY yoga-based preschool program in Michigan. We also offer classes for moms so that YOU can take your own class or get some work done in our Mama Lounge while your little yogi is in class.
We strongly believe in play-based learning. We begin each day of our program with child-led free play that relates to a new theme each month. We also believe in meeting each child where they’re at – if a child is feeling tired, upset, or cannot focus on the activity at hand, we support them taking a rest in our Peace Corner or finding another activity that they can do. In that way, we are very flexible to meet the needs of each child!
That being said, we agree that structure and routine is important for young children (and adults alike!). We have a schedule to our day that remains constant throughout the school year. The kiddos quickly learn the structure of our days at Renew Yoga for Preschoolers. We’ve found that following a schedule and our classroom routine helps the children thrive!
- Improves strength and flexibility
- Increases self confidence and builds a positive self-image
- Increases emotional strength
- Increases sensory awareness, awareness of breath, and general body awareness
- Develops self-discipline and self-control
- Helps improve concentration
- Teaches kids how to channel their energy in a positive way
- Encourages compassion, generosity, teamwork, and respect
- …and so much more!
Nope! Potty-trained is preferred, but not required. Diapers or pull-ups are totally fine.
We suggest purchasing a yoga mat for your child because it helps establish routines and healthy habits when they care for and keep track of their own personal mat. Plus kids mats are just so cute!
We also suggest sending a labeled water bottle with your yogi to class.
You will also receive a list of school supplies before the school year begins.
